CENTAURALSTUDIO is the fashion label of the interior designer, stage and costume designer Dorothea Ronneburg. As a designer, she deals professionally with the interaction between people and spaces and the effect that clothing has on how someone appears, whether they feel comfortable, and what language our bodies speak.
As a long-time rider, she became increasingly aware of how little a fashion approach plays a role in riding clothing. The textile industry reduces riding to functional aspects, and typical items of clothing are reproduced stylistically. There is a blatant lack of sustainability concepts in the entire area of equipment for riders and horses.
Both aspects – the desire for style and the commitment to our environment to produce as resource-efficiently and sustainably as possible – flow into the design concept by CENTAURALSTUDIO equestrian couture.
Wthat defines us.
In addition to her creative and artistic careers, Dorothea Ronneburg is a passionate rider and horse owner. CENTAURALSTUDIO equestrian couture brings together the most deeply explored areas of her creativity.
"I see rider and horse as an ensemble whose beauty needs to be supported. As an architect, I develop clear lines and a well-thought-out concept, innovative and timeless. My goal is to create as many cross-collection pieces as possible, so that numerous combination possibilities arise."
Who helps shape things.
Our pieces are based on a careful development process. Every design has been tested on horseback. No piece comes from a white label production, but is an original from CENTAURALSTUDIO equestrian couture.
As a fashion and costume designer with experience and great attention to detail, Mareike Hundt brought every design to production readiness and advised and supported CENTAURALSTUDIO in the development of the collection. She enriched the project with her ideas, whereby a number of factors had to be taken into account, such as the malleability of the fabrics, their stretching properties, their interaction with other fabrics.

Our partner in the intermediate workshop produces in small series. What we offer is clearly manufactured goods.
Exclusivity guaranteed:
Our series are provided with serial numbers.
Even though we love our logo, we believe that our pieces stand on their own and do not need any clear labeling to be recognized.
Centaural is my horse. He accompanied me for twenty-five years and was born on April 22, 1992 in Normandy. His name is actually an adjective, because centaural means 'centauric'. After a long search for what I wanted to call my label, it became clear to me: CENTAURAL is it, even if it may not be easy to pronounce. It all starts with love for horses. And with a feeling. The centauric feeling.
How do you pronounce this French word?

No matter what style of riding we practice, there is one common theme: we intervene in the horse's natural movement. Ideally, we do this so that the horse can carry us on its back without being harmed. In other words, we shape the horse. A term that I have adopted from the technical language of academic riding.
We aim to achieve a major change in form through many small interventions. If we succeed, this change on the outside also shapes our horse on the inside. Our horse comes closer to us. It enjoys the time together. It becomes calm and balanced, it likes our touch. Read more...
